Soe's Kitchen

Tucked inside the International House at 716 Main Street, Soe's Kitchen brings a fresh, vibrant taste of Japan to the heart of downtown Buffalo's theater district. Founded by Elizabeth Shur, Soe's is a labor of love — a kitchen built around the precision, artistry, and clean flavors that define Japanese cuisine.

At the center of our menu is handcrafted sushi, prepared fresh daily and perfectly suited to the rhythm of theater district dining. Light, refined, and served quickly without ever feeling rushed, sushi is the ideal pre-show meal — satisfying enough to carry you through the performance, elegant enough to set the tone for the evening, and easy to enjoy whether you have a full hour or just thirty minutes before curtain.

Alongside the sushi, we serve some of the most beloved bubble tea in the city. The global bubble tea craze has taken Buffalo by storm, and Soe's has quickly become a go-to destination for fans of the drink — with a rotating lineup of classic milk teas, bright fruit teas, and that signature chewy tapioca that keeps regulars coming back. Round out your visit with one of our house-made smoothies, blended from real fruit for a refreshing, feel-good finish.

Whether you're grabbing a quick bite before a show, meeting friends for an afternoon treat, or simply exploring what downtown has to offer, Soe's Kitchen is a warm, welcoming stop in the middle of it all.

Tucked into the heart of the theater district, Evelina's brings together everything you crave in a great neighborhood kitchen — warm flavors, generous portions, and a menu built around the American classics.

Our menu is all about the essentials, made the way they should be. Start with one of our hearty, made-from-scratch soups — rotating daily and simmered low and slow for deep, satisfying flavor. Pair it with one of our fresh, crisp salads, layered with quality ingredients and house-made dressings that turn a simple plate into something memorable.

Our sandwiches are stacked high and built to order, from classic deli favorites to creative house specials — perfect for a quick lunch, a pre-show bite, or a midday escape from the office. Abysinnia Ethiopian

Located inside the International House at 716 Main Street, Abyssinia brings the rich, soulful flavors of Ethiopia to the heart of downtown Buffalo's theater district. Named for the ancient kingdom that gave rise to one of the world's oldest and most distinctive cuisines, Abyssinia is a celebration of tradition, hospitality, and the timeless art of sharing a meal.

At the center of our menu is injera — the signature sourdough flatbread of Ethiopia, hand-prepared and used both as plate and utensil in true Ethiopian fashion. Spread across it, you'll find a colorful array of slow-simmered stews known as wats, vibrant vegetable dishes, lentils, and tender, spiced meats — each one layered with the warm, aromatic spices that make Ethiopian cooking unforgettable. Our signature blend of berbere and the golden, herb-infused butter known as niter kibbeh give every bite its unmistakable depth and character.

Ethiopian dining is meant to be shared — meals are served family-style on a single communal platter, encouraging conversation, connection, and a slower, more intentional kind of eating. Whether you're new to Ethiopian cuisine or a longtime lover of injera and doro wat, Abyssinia offers a welcoming space to gather, explore, and savor.

Pair your meal with a cup of traditionally brewed Ethiopian coffee — the birthplace of the coffee bean — or one of our refreshing house drinks to complete the experience.

Whether you're stopping in before a show, exploring downtown, or sharing a long, lingering dinner with friends, Abyssinia is a destination unlike any other in Buffalo — a place where every meal tells a story.

Pinoy Boy

Pinoy Boy brings the bold, comforting flavors of the Philippines to the heart of downtown Buffalo's theater district. A proud celebration of Filipino home cooking and street food culture, Pinoy Boy is where tradition, family recipes, and the unmistakable soul of the islands come together on every plate.

Filipino cuisine is one of the world's great undiscovered treasures — a rich, flavorful blend of Spanish, Chinese, Malay, and indigenous influences shaped by centuries of history and shared across generations. At Pinoy Boy, we're proud to introduce Buffalo to the dishes that Filipinos have loved for a lifetime.

Our menu features the classics that define Filipino comfort food. Dig into a plate of chicken adobo — the unofficial national dish — slow-braised in soy, vinegar, garlic, and bay leaf until tender and deeply flavorful. Try our lumpia, the crispy, golden spring rolls that disappear off the plate as fast as we can serve them. Savor a bowl of pancit, the beloved noodle dish served at every Filipino celebration, or dive into rich, savory sisig, kare-kare, or a steaming bowl of sinigang — the tangy, soul-warming sour soup that's pure comfort in a bowl.

No Filipino meal is complete without garlic rice, and no visit is complete without trying one of our sweet finishes — from halo-halo, the iconic shaved-ice dessert layered with sweet beans, fruit, and ube ice cream, to warm, comforting turon.

Filipino food is meant to be shared, celebrated, and savored — meals are loud, generous, and full of love. Whether you grew up eating these dishes or you're tasting them for the first time, Pinoy Boy is a warm, welcoming spot where every guest is treated like family.

Whether you're grabbing a quick bite before a show, exploring downtown, or settling in for a long, satisfying meal with friends, Pinoy Boy delivers the authentic taste of the Philippines right here in Buffalo.
